A beautiful old town, Bromyard has existed for over 1,000
years; records go back as far as Anglo Saxon times, whilst there is evidence
pointing to man working & hunting here more than 5000 years ago. Today
the town and surrounding areas retain many fine buildings and an air of timelessness
which is quite unique.
Situated in Herefordshire, between the cathedral cities of Hereford &
Worcester, Bromyard is surrounded by lovely countryside including open common
land known as Bromyard Downs and Bringsty Common. A great place for walking
& recreation with far reaching views to the Black Mountains, Malvern
Hills & Clee Hill. With a whole host of options for accommodation,
from hotels to self catering
cottages, Bed and Breakfast to caravans,
Bromyard has something to cater for all tastes. As an old market town historically
attracting visitors from far afield, there are many pubs
and restaurants in and around Bromyard catering
for any travellers needs.
Bromyard is the perfect place to stay for short or long breaks as it is central
to most of Hereford & Worcester's best towns and villages. Within 15 miles
of the town there is a wealth of history, beauty & tranquility with a
vast amount of interesting things to
do and places to visit.
Some of the more varied activities include Horse Riding, Mountain Boarding,
and beautiful Gardens to meander through, whilst in the town itself you will
find the 'Year of the Hop' exhibition in the Heritage Centre
which is housed in the 18th century stable block of a former rectory.
