Moors
Meadow is an intriguing & eclectic garden, full of appeal to the true plantsman.
7 acres of hillside giving superb views over the Kyre Valley, with countless
unusual & exotic plants
Established over 50 years ago, Moors Meadow is home to hundreds
of varieties of trees & shrubs from around the world, including Japanese
Lanterns, Indian Beans, Giant Redwoods, Handkerchief Trees and even a mature
Kowhai from New Zealand
There are brimming herbaceous borders, a
grass garden, a rhododendron garden,
a fernery , a cottage garden, a herb garden & a highly productive kitchen
garden .
The wild-flower meadow runs down to a small lake - just one of several water features in the garden - & there are numerous unusal seats & sculptures ingeniously fashioned from old farm implements & scrap. Assorted paths wind through the garden to add to the sense of surprise and secrecy. Every one reveals a rarity. Moors Meadow will fascinate the gardener who loves to explore at all times of the year and appeals to anyone not looking for formal or traditional planting .
